aBi Retreats in Gulu Gains Valuable Insights
aBi Development recently held a strategic retreat in Gulu to formulate its 2025 annual work plans. The retreat featured key visits to prominent agricultural institutions in the region, beginning with Gulu University’s Faculty of Agriculture & Environment.
During the engagement with Gulu University officials, aBi’s team gained valuable insights into the hands-on approaches the faculty is employing to train the next generation of agriculturalists and environmentalists. Dr. Kato Stonewall, the Deputy Dean, shared how the University fosters student innovation by encouraging patenting of innovative ideas and solutions, positioning its graduates as future leaders in the agricultural sector.
The visit extended to the Gulu Agricultural Development Company and the farms of the West Acholi Cooperative Union, where aBi observed significant progress made with local agricultural land. These interactions and observations will play a critical role in shaping the organisation’s plans for 2025, ensuring that aBi Development’s future work is informed by practical, on-the-ground expertise and sustainable agricultural practices.
The visit to Gulu not only strengthened partnerships but also provided a clear direction for aBi’s upcoming projects, aiming to boost agribusiness development and environmental sustainability across Uganda.
